Al Vicoletto - Genuine Hospitality

Guesthouse in Tortolì in the city center

We are in the heart of Tortolì’s historic center, tucked away in a quiet alley just steps from restaurants, gelaterias, and local shops. Within a few minutes' drive, you’ll reach Lido di Orrì, the archaeological site of San Salvatore, limestone cliffs, and the trails leading to the Gulf of Orosei. From Tortolì, Ogliastra is all yours to explore. At Al Vicoletto, we offer three bright, comfortable rooms. Each has either a private or shared bathroom (depending on the type), air conditioning, smart TV, and a view of the little alley that gives our home its name. We also have a private parking area inside the courtyard — a small but important detail, especially in the center. Our hospitality is personal and relaxed: we love chatting with our guests, suggesting things to do, and sharing our favorite places. Upon request, we also prepare breakfast with local and often homemade products. It's a moment to connect — and a good way to start the day. You can book directly on our website, write to us via WhatsApp, or call the number on our contact page. We’re always happy to help you choose, get to know the area, or answer your questions. We speak Italian and English. Laura also speaks Spanish, French, and Portuguese. We look forward to welcoming you!

Our breakfast

At Al Vicoletto, breakfast is more than just a meal — it's a moment of connection. We serve it upon request, usually in the outdoor patio when the weather allows. It's our favorite way to start the day with our guests: chatting, sharing stories about the area, and hearing your plans to explore Ogliastra. You won't find a rich, impersonal buffet: ours is a breakfast made for a few, with care, simplicity, and a touch of inspiration. We prepare sweet or savory options using local, often homemade products. Each morning is a little surprise: maybe toasted bread with jam, a freshly baked cake, local cheeses, or a savory bite — something that also tells the story of Ogliastra. There's no fixed menu, but we're happy to accommodate allergies, intolerances, or personal preferences. Just let us know in advance — your comfort matters. Maurizio personally prepares the breakfast. And when Laura is around, conversations might also happen in English, Spanish, Portuguese or French. Language is never a barrier: here, everything starts with a simple coffee. Breakfast is served between 7:00 and 9:00. It's always best to request it in advance — otherwise, we might not be available to prepare it. If you enjoy starting your day slowly and with taste, just let us know. We'd be happy to prepare it for you.

You will be hosted by Maurizio & Laura

Who we are Al Vicoletto was born in 2016 from a simple desire: to create a welcoming and authentic place, rooted in the land and in human connection. After months of work and a crowdfunding campaign through Produzioni dal Basso, the project took shape — blending hospitality and real relationships. It wasn’t just about changing jobs. We were looking for a different way of living: more time, more humanity, more space for true encounters. That’s where it all began — and it’s still what guides us. In 2020, Laura entered our story. She’s originally from Veneto, lived in Mexico for six years, and came to Sardinia on holiday. She passed through the Vicoletto, we met, fell in love — and she decided to stay. Since then, we’ve walked this path together. Laura embraced the project and enriches it every day with her experience, perspective, and energy. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese and French, which helps us connect more deeply with guests from around the world. Today we live a few steps from the Vicoletto, in the heart of Tortolì, with our children Sole and Francesco — who are, in their own way, part of this little world. We don’t just rent rooms. We welcome people. Some guests tell us they felt more at home here than on vacation. To us, that’s the best compliment we could receive.

Area city center

Ogliastra is a place you don’t forget. It combines the clearest sea with the silence of the mountains and preserves a lifestyle that withstands the passing of time. Tortolì is the perfect starting point for those who want to explore it all with calm, freedom, and open eyes. From here, it’s easy to reach the coves of the Gulf of Orosei: Cala Goloritzè, voted “Best Beach in the World 2025”, Cala Mariolu, Cala Sisine. These places are not just landscapes: they’re experiences. A sunrise trek, a dive into turquoise waters, a boat ride among carved cliffs. Mountain lovers will find spectacular climbing walls in Baunei, Ulassai, Jerzu. Trails wind through canyons, forests, and plateaus, offering sudden panoramic views between a juniper and a deep breath. But Ogliastra is also real life. It’s one of the five Blue Zones in the world: here, people live longer, with slowness, strong relationships, and a deep connection to the land. You can feel it in daily gestures, in the markets, in the smiles of someone sharing a recipe or pointing out a water spring. You won’t find theme parks or malls. But if you're looking for unspoiled nature, authenticity, and silence, this is the right place. If you want to truly discover Ogliastra, this is where it begins.
