Cala Goloritzè, a place that stays with you
Every time we welcome new guests to Tortolì, the question inevitably comes up: “What’s the most beautiful beach to visit?” And without hesitation, Laura and I always answer: Cala Goloritzè. It’s one of those wonders that needs no introduction, yet always deserves to be told.
We’ve been there many times, and each visit feels like the first. The trail that starts from the Golgo plateau, surrounded by the scents of lentisk and myrtle, is already an experience in itself. You’ll need a bit of stamina and a good pair of shoes, but the reward is worth it. After about an hour and a half of walking, you reach a beach that looks like a dream: white pebbles, crystal-clear turquoise water, and that iconic limestone spire – the Aguglia – rising like a natural monument.
For those who prefer the sea to hiking, you can also approach by boat, though docking is not allowed. The last stretch must be swum. It’s a strict rule, but one that helps keep this place protected and unspoiled.
In 2025, Cala Goloritzè was voted the most beautiful beach in the world by a major international ranking. For us, it always has been. But this recognition has shone a light on a corner of Sardinia that still holds onto its wild soul — untouched and real.
The truth is, almost every guest who stays with us eventually asks how to get to Goloritzè. It has become a symbol, a goal, almost a rite of passage. And what often leaves people even more amazed is everything surrounding it: the scenic road to Baunei climbing up the mountains, the silence of the Golgo plateau, and the endless views. It’s a journey within a journey, and that’s what makes it so special.
If you’re thinking of visiting, we’ll be happy to give you all the tips you need to make the most of the experience — best times to go, what to bring, where to park, and a few local secrets we’ve learned over the years.
We look forward to helping you experience it.
Maurizio and Laura
